Antonin Artaud Publications is a small press of interdisciplinary arts whose mission is to print and publish short collections of quality contemporary poetry, essays and plays using the methods and equipment of the new and antique book arts, hand-sewn bindings & letterpress printing.
In poetry we are looking for innovative work, intellectually challenging, emotionally engaging and visionary.
In theatre we are looking for works that should represent reality and, therefore, affect the audience as much as possible, methods using a mixture of forms of lighting, sound, and other performance elements.
We are looking for pieces of works that aim to put the audience in the middle of the ‘spectacle’ , so the audience would be ‘engulfed and physically affected by it’. We referred to this layout as being like a ‘vortex’ – a constantly shifting shape – ‘to be trapped and powerless’.
